Anna Whitney was born in 1775 in Hadley, Hampshire Co., Maine.
She died in 1845 in De Witt, Clinton Co., Iowa. Of the Eli Whitney family. After her husband's death she went to live with her son George and daughter Caroline. After moving to Ohio she corresponded with either brothers or cousins, Joseph & William Whitney who lived in Oswego, NY. They were preachers.
Is thought to have had brothers Roswell, James, Molton and a sister Roxanne. He was the only family member to "go west" so his children didn't know much about the rest of his family. He was called "hog king" in Vermont for the number of hogs he raised. He lived probably near Norwich either in Orange or Windsor Counties. He lived a few miles from a college across the river in New Hampshire (Dartmouth). Probably most of the children were born around Norwich.
