Will:
In the matter of this Last Will and Testament of Warrem Percival, Died
Know all men by these (unreadable) that I, Warren Percival of, Hardin
Co., and the State of Iowa, being of sound mind and memory, do, hereby on this
11th day of January, A.D. 1890 make this last Will and Testament.
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Sophronia B. Percival all my
property, both personal and real, to be hers for ever, including my interest
in and to the South-East quarter of Section (26) Twp. (88) Range (21) W. (5"
P.M. unsure what this is) Iowa.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand this 11th day of January, 1890.

On this 11 day of January 1890 the foregoing instrument was in our
presence signed & executed by Warren Percival and by his declared to us to
be his last Will and Testament, and at his request and in his presence and in
the presence of each other we have subscribed our names as witnesses.

Will of William Pittwood, read at Kane Co., Courthouse, Geneva, Illinois.
I, William Pittwood of the town of St. Charles, County of Kane and State of Illinois
do hereby make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form
following to wit
First -- It is my will that my funeral expenses and tombstone and all my just
debts be first fully paid.
Second -- After payment of such funeral expenses and all debts aforesaid I give
and bequeath unto my wife Sarah Ann Pittwood the use of all real estate of which
I am now or may at the time of my death possess during her natural life. I also
give and bequeath unto my said wife one third of all the personal property of
which I now or may be possessed at the time of my death. Also all the furniture,
books and other articles of personal property which my said wife had at the time
of our marriage which shall be in her or my possession at the time of my decease
provided always the she my said wife shall receive the said legacy in lieu of
her dower according to the Law of Illinois.
Third -- I give and bequeath unto my son John Pittwood all other articles of
household furniture. Also the barn belonging to the homestead and the land on
which it stands situated in St. Charles, County of Kane, State of Illinois described
as follows. Vis Lot No. two (2) in Moodys addition being the South West corner
of said lot meaning only the barn and the land covered by the same for services
already rendered. Also all my farming and garden tools.
Fourth -- I give and bequeath unto my son William S. Pittwood my family Bible
and one Missionary Certificate and one bedstead and bedding in the chamber.
Fifth -- I give and bequeath unto each of my grandchildren...(Note: there is
a line that I can't read. By Lois Wallace.) ...of my death one bible and one
Methodist Hymm Book in a value not to exceed one dollar and fifty cents for both.
Sixth -- I give and bequeath to the Missionary Society of the Free Methodist
Church the sum of thirty dollars ($30) in installments of five dollars per year
for six successive years after my decease.
Seventh -- I give and bequeath to the American Bible Society the sum of twelve
dollars at the rate of two dollars per year for six years after my death.
Eighth -- I give and bequeath unto my children William S. Pittwood, Lewis N.
Pittwood, John Pittwood, Mary Mead, Eliza Judd, Elizabeth Wallace, Mariah Morse
also my deceased daughter Susanna Morse's three children Albert Morse, Serena
Morse and Levi Morse her share to be equally divided. All property not otherwise
appropriated in this will of which I shall at the time of my death be possessed
whether real or personal. Said property to be equally divided among them. The
shares hereby bequeathed to Eliza Judd, Elizabeth Wallace and Mariah Morse to
be delivered to them as follows to wit, one fifth immediately after settlement;
of the estate and the balance in four equal annual installments thereafter, But
if any of my children die before this will is executed leaving no children their
share to be equally divided among the other children. I hereby appoint William
S. Pittwood and Lewis N. Pittwood guardians for Eliza Judd and Albert Morse,
Serena Morse and Levi Morse.
(Note of Lois Wallace: Although there seems to be a page missing between "eighth"
and "eleventh" items, there is nothing more in the courthouse record.
I double checked the original will at the Kane County Courthouse. It seems to
have been written on several small sheets of paper and these have all been taped
together to form one lone sheet, and I have copies of the entire will.)
Eleventh -- It is my will that all matters of dispute that may arise between
my executors and any of the legatees herein before mentioned in relation to the
settlement of any matter growing out of the settlement of my estate shall be
determined by three disinterested official members of the Methodist Church to
be selected one by each of the parties in dispute and such parties so selected
choosing a third the decision of whom shall be final in all such matters of dispute.
Twelfth -- It is my will that if any of the legatees herein before mentioned
shall willfully cause any unnecessary trouble expense or delay in the settlement
of my said estate my executors in the manner set forth in this legatee or legatees
shall be deprived of any legacy granted to him or her in this will of such legacy
so forfeited shall be divided equally among those of my children that have thus
not forfeited their legacy.
Thirteenth -- It is my will that my wife Sarah Ann Pittwood be permitted to reside
in the homestead six months after my decease also the use of the furniture for
said six months.
Fourteenth -- I hereby make and constitute and appoint my three sons William
S. Pittwood, Lewis N. Pittwood and John Pittwood my executors of this my last
will and testament=ament hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me
made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof i the said William Pittwood have hereunto set my hand and
seal this Twenty Fifth day of January A. D. Eighteen hundred and Sixty Six.
